Blackboard 9 Training

Blackboard 9 is coming to Washington College and Instructional Technology plans to "flip the switch" this July. In preparation for the coming transition, we have prepared a Blackboard 9 workshop that covers the new features of this learning management system and steps you can take to back up and archive your existing Blackboard 9 courses.

Workshops begin next week and we highly encourage you to sign up for one that fits your schedule. Workshops will be offered on:

  • April 21 (T) from 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm
  • April 22 (W) from 10:30 am - 11:45 am
  • May 13 (W) from 11:00 am - 12:15 pm
  • May 14 (R) from 2:00 pm - 3:15 pm
  • May 15 (F) from 10:00 am - 11:15 am

Exciting New Projects From OIT

OIT has embarked recently on a busy schedule of projects that will bring some exciting new services to the Washington College community. We want to keep you in the loop with these projects as they develop, so check back with the OIT News blog for the latest information on the following:
  • Zimbra - new email, calendar and collaboration tool for faculty, staff and students
  • Blackboard 9 - brand new release of the learning management system
  • T3 - an additional fast internet pipe to make your online life faster & more reliable
  • Gibson Performing Arts Center - what's going on as we help set up the new building
  • WAC Alerts - safety and urgent news alerts sent right to your mobile phone, email, etc
  • Virtualization - more robust & reliable hosted services - with fewer energy-using servers
