Inauguration: Phone Issues Possible

Due to expected extremely high volume of both landline and cellular telephone calls as a result of the presidential inauguration, there could be problems completing calls, especially to the DC area.

Some telephone service providers may reallocate a part of their service to the DC area, thus lowering the service level available elsewhere. Do not be surprised today if long distance telephone calls either take longer to connect, or possibly do not connect at all.
