Meeting Minutes - 9/15

Thanks to everyone who made it out to last night's planning meeting!

The biggest outcome of last night's meeting was the unanimous decision that we should be using the Facebook group to communicate. It's far too difficult to get everyone together in one room on a weekly basis, so PLEASE share your thoughts and ideas through the wall, discussions, messages and posted video and photos. We want this event to fit what YOU have in mind, so make your thoughts known!

We had a great presentation from Shannon of looks from the past that inspire her and give a good sense of direction for where we should be going with the idea of Old Movies.

This brought us to looking at the Vanity Fair spread of Alfred Hitchcock scenes remade with modern actors. Brian noted that it's important to not think of recreating entire scenes so much as the overall feel of the scene. As an example, Kate stated that we could achieve the look of a film noir with only a desk, lamp, venetian blinds and a cigarette.

To this end, we are hoping to use the afternoon/evening of October the 24th to build basic "sets" in the LFC since we have it reserved. All in attendance agreed that this date will be fine.

In addition to the LFC shoots, we would like to offer smaller studio shoots for headshots and ideas like Susanne's brightly colored makeup and wild hair shots. It's also important to remember that we can provide photo opportunities in other locations - so if a particular stairwell or building in town, a place on the water or something similar has inspired you or fits well with the movie look you are trying to recreate, let us know soon!

We also welcomed a new stylist to the group last night - Kristine Depew. Kristine can work with both men's and women's clothing, so please send your information to Kristine if you'd like to model!

There will not be another group meeting for the next few weeks but I will be posting more information about proposed dates for shooting as Facebook events and there should hopefully be an active discussion board shortly, so keep checking in on the Facebook group.

All best,

Nick
