This is an overview of our procedures to help make your mail and copy experience a pleasant one. For mail questions call 7282 or 7867. For copy and shipping questions call 7112 or 7425.
Central Services Procedures
1. All correspondence needs to be enveloped and addressed before delivering to Central Services. We are not responsible for addressing and packaging. We do offer some specialty products for shipping of overnight and priority mailing. The customer can obtain these products from our office and package and address it before presenting to our office for shipping.
2. All personal mail must be paid for at the time of service. Personal charges are not permitted through Central Services.
3. Outgoing mail must be presented in an orderly fashion with mail flaps down, separate and flat. On campus mail should be kept separate from outgoing mail. Faculty and student mail must be presented in alpha order and staff mail in office order.
4. Federal Express packages need to be hand delivered to Central Services before 2:00pm in order to go out the same day. Anything arriving after that time will go out the following business day. We can process letters for offices to take to the Federal Express drop off box down town. It is the office of origin’s responsibility to take mail to the drop box. Federal Express is picked up downtown at 4:30pm each business day.
5. All mail for the United States Post Office and United Parcel Service must be delivered to Central Services by 3:00pm daily to ensure same day service. The mail goes out 3:30pm daily.
6. All copy requests must be electronically or hand delivered to Central Services. Please do not send through inter-campus mail. Central Services will not assemble copy jobs. For example, we do not hand staple booklets or paper clip. All color copy requests need to be pre-authorized before final printing. We reserve the right to refuse requests for copy jobs that are too large for our color copier’s capacity.
